Children with Special Needs Living in Lóczy / Kinderen meg een handicap, opgroeiend in Lóczy / Sérült gyerekek a Lóczyban - with booklet
Where does special education fit into the Pikler Approach? This was a major challenge the team at the Pikler Insitute found themselves facing in the early 2000s when more and more children with additional needs were placed in the residential nursery. Even though the Pikler Approach focuses on the development of healthy children, this situation gave rise to some intensive work by special therapist Borbála Szentpétery and child psychologist Dr. Sjoukje Borbély into the possibilities of the Pikler Approach when dealing with children with special needs. This film gives a picture of where they were in the process of this important work in 2007, when they presented their findings at a conference held at the Pikler Institute on the occasion of its 60th anniversary.
The booklet containing the text of the talk is available in three languages: Hungarian, English, and Dutch.
